God’s peace for children and families
These days, peace often seems a distant prospect. Children grow up in poverty, face exclusion or have little chance of an education. Families are left to cope with their worries alone. It is precisely this darkness that Jesus Christ wishes to illuminate with his light and guide people onto the path of peace.
All of that will happen because our God is tender and caring. His kindness will bring the rising sun to us from heaven. It will shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death. It will guide our feet on the path of peace.
These are the verses from the "Benedictus" that we are using for our Christmas campaign. God does not leave people alone in their darkness. His light comes into the world and leads us on the path of peace. At EBM INTERNATIONAL, we walk this path together with our partner churches. We create safe places for children, open up educational opportunities and support families. And we share the message of Jesus Christ, in whom God’s transforming love has become visible:
Cuba – A Path to Community
On Cuba’s sports pitches, it’s about more than just football, basketball or baseball. Children and young people experience friendship, hear about Jesus in devotions and find people to guide them. In children’s Bible clubs – some held in churches, others on the streets – girls and boys hear the Gospel, experience fellowship and find new hope – for their families too.
India – A pathway out of danger
For many Banjara children, the day begins in the fields because their parents have to work and there is no one to look after the youngest ones. In the Balwadi pre-schools (see page 4), they find a safe place. Similarly, twelve homes for children and young people across India provide such a haven: there, they can learn, play, receive healthy meals and be part of a church community.
Mozambique – A Path to Dignity
At the social centre in Macia, children who would otherwise be easily overlooked or marginalised – particularly those with disabilities – are given a place to belong. They receive support, education, meals and a sense of community. Families are visited and supported. A Baptist congregation is based on the premises. This is how faith comes to life: children are not reduced to their limitations, but are accepted as people who are loved by God and valued as individuals.

These projects exemplify the holistic mission work of EBM International. Through more than 50 projects worldwide, we are specifically committed to supporting children and young people. For this, we require around one million euros in donations.
