Education is the key to a self-determined life. That is why we are asking for support in the area of "capacity building" for Thanksgiving 2024:
Together with you, we enable children and young people to attend school. Vocational training enables young people to escape poverty. For women in particular, this means the chance to lead a self-determined life. At theological seminars, we strengthen the vocations of women and men for their service in the kingdom of God.
This is happening in India, Latin America and Africa, for example:
India - school education paves the way to the future
In the schools in India, girls and boys are supported from primary school through to secondary school. This paves the way for them to pursue vocational training or higher education. Girls in particular benefit from this support. This education enables them to take further steps towards a self-determined life with their own income.
Brazil - secure income through vocational training
The social centre in Diadema provides holistic support for children, young people and families and encourages them in their social skills, their school career and their spiritual life. In state-certified courses, young adults can complete an apprenticeship and learn a trade: as carpenters, in administration, as computer specialists or in food production, they can earn an income and provide for themselves and their families.
Malawi - well equipped for pastoral ministry
The theological seminary in Lilongwe trains young men and women for the pastoral ministry. Here they receive comprehensive training for their future ministry in churches, as evangelists or in church planting. Our German missionary Micha Soppa is currently supporting this training programme as a lecturer.
Thanksgiving campaign: educating people and strengthening vocations together
Around 50 projects in the area of "skills development" help to give people the chance to lead a self-determined life through education. Your commitment to skills development is an important building block for financing this holistic missionary work: your donation or collection enables children to go to school, young people to receive an education and men and women to be equipped to serve others.
