On January 23, 2022, Tropical Storm Ana hit land in Mozambique and moved northwest across southern Malawi to Zambia. It left a trail of destruction: devastating floods hit Southern Africa. It is hard to predict what the long-term consequences will be or to what extent this will set back our partner countries in Malawi and Zambia. Both countries remain among the poorest in the world.
