You are looking at a colorful wall painted with motives like Mickey Mouse and giraffes when you are walking on a busy street in Mamelodi. There is loud honking from the cabs, which never seems to stop and you hear noise from playing children behind colorful grids at certain times of day.
On the campus of Jesus Loves Ministries there is a sewing school, the Bethel Ashram children’s home for boys, and the St. Pauls School for nursery up to seventh grade. In this place, you are mainly working with the 15 boys from the children’s home that you grow fond of quickly.
In the children’s home “Norberto Haase” in Alem there are about 60 children. They live together in their homes in family groups of 12 boys and girls. In the mornings, we help the housemothers. After lunch and the siesta break, we are usually with the children in the homes.
Since the beginning of the cooperation between EBM INTERNATIONAL and the Baptist Convention of Sierra Leone (BCSL) the support of many Baptist schools has been a core concern in our partnership. By now more than 40 churches have founded a school.
In Cameroon EBM INTERNATIONAL is supporting many medical organizations. In the northern part of the country the Baptist Partner “Union des Églises Baptistes” (UEBC) is in charge of seven different establishments, with our missionary Sarah Bosniakowski in the hospital in Garoua.
Well trained leaders are key to growth and a healthy church work. Because of her long time experience Regina Claas supports the Baptist conventions in southern Africa in leadership development. One of the core concerns of her work is the promotion of the local church leaders.
