Carlos Waldow (regional representative for Latin America) and Christoph Haus (general secretary) traveled to Cuba in January. There they witnessed the five-year anniversary of the church in La Perla and they heard many stories of how God changed the lives of many people through the projects.
Many people have been reached with the good news and become evangelists very quickly. These missionaries and pastors need good and Biblical training as well as support. In Las Tunas and in ten other places in eastern Cuba there are hundreds of members in training.
Every year there are a lot of new churches being planted in Cuba. Often everything starts with Bible clubs, a sports program, and social help for children and youths. Missionaries, co-workers, and church planters are being trained for the mission work in Cuba.
Life in Cuba is very hard. Poverty, crime, drug trade, and spiritism are the source of great lack of perspective and despair even for the younger ones. Children learn about the word of God and Christian values in the Bible clubs. The kids receive food and tutoring, and their families receive social help.
