The Social Center in Diadema (Brazil) celebrated its 18th anniversary – with distance, masks, and the desire to serve and help the many families in their area. The commitment of these employees is representative of how excellently our projects are adapting to the new situation and how important any support is in times of a pandemic.
“I praise God for the privilege of doing this service. We have many different problems every day but the joy of bringing children and whole families into contact with God the Father far outweighs all of this. To God be all glory.” These are the first lines of the last report by our PEPE coordinator Sônia Reinke from Brazil.
Following the death of the President of the Cameroonian Baptist Union (UEBC), Fréderic Ngaka Epoundé, on May 19th, pastor Linda Koroma from Sierra Leone also died of Covid-19 on May 27th. We pray for the families and mourn with the bereaved and the respective Baptist Unions.
Again and again these days we are receiving reports, testimonies, prayer requests, project applications, or brief information from the many projects we support. The suffering and the challenges are almost overwhelming in many places. At the same time, however, our missionaries are also experiencing how God acts and intervenes.
Hygiene measures in India and Malawi, curfews in South Africa, closed children’s homes in India, closed social centers in Latin America and the need of the refugees in Turkey. We would like to provide you with first information from our partner countries and invite you to pray for them.
“I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20b) God is here! This is the core of the mission and a wonderfully comforting commitment. This can make us confident in these days of crisis. Jesus’ promise is independent of our emotional state. Stay connected to us through your prayers and financial support.
